Measuring your baseline Week One of wearing the pedometer

Before we start your pedometer program, you will first need to establish your physical activity baseline for the week.

  • For seven days, wear your pedometer and follow your daily routine.
  • Record your daily activity
  • At the end of the week, compute an average number of steps that you walked.
  • Once you know how many steps you have taken over the course of each day, you can average the days and find your starting point.
  • Remember, if you have not began an exercise program already, do not begin the program until after obtaining this initial starting point.
